According to Total News, citing Economic, Turkey and England have signed a 1.3 billion dollar financial agreement for the construction of a new high-speed electric railway line in the center of Turkey, between the city of Kayseri and the small city of Yerkoy.
During a meeting at the British Consulate General in Istanbul, the British Minister of Commerce, Kimi Badnoch, mentioned this agreement as a “great sign for trade relations” and talked about the two countries.
He said, this is the third time that the UK is working with Turkey to ensure the future of a sustainable large-scale transport project.
“I am absolutely delighted to see another major UK-Turkey deal with a budget of €1.2 billion ($1.3 billion),” the British Secretary of Commerce said.
Badnoch stated, the new railway line will also help Turkey to expand its low-carbon railway network and reduce congestion, and will reduce net carbon emissions on this route by more than 6,500 tons of carbon dioxide per year.
He added, Turkey offers great opportunities for British businesses with its large economy and strategic location.
