According to Total News, Seyed Mohammad Reza Hashemi, the Governor of Semnan, on the sidelines of his visit to the General Administration of Roads and Road Transport of Semnan province, stated, the roads of Semnan province host 20 million passing passengers per year and are located on the route of Imam Reza (a.s.) pilgrims. Every year, it witnesses a high volume of traffic, and considering that it is one of the largest provinces in the country, everyone’s efforts to reduce accidents and manage traffic as well as possible are mandatory.
He pointed out the actions and services of the provincial highway system to the people and said, the provincial highway system has always been working in a jihadist manner and provided good services to the pilgrims of Agha Ali Ebn Mousa al-Reza (a.s.) during the flood, snow and peak travel days) have presented and deserve recognition.
Hashemi stated, fortunately, the road complex showed a high level of responsibility by planning and deploying in arterial and main axes and trying throughout the year to establish safe and smooth traffic throughout the vast province of Semnan, and their honest service to road users and people is commendable.
The governor of Semnan further mentioned the lack of tourism platform as one of the important factors of road accidents in the province and reminded that, considering long-term solutions can be a turning point to reduce accidents, therefore the relevant agencies should have good capacities due to the high volume of traffic on the roads of the province to stop passengers.
The high representative of the government in the province also emphasized the policy and vision of the 13th government in order to reduce accidents and announced the allocation of special funds to fix high-accident areas of Semnan province in his first meeting with the Minister of Roads and Urban Development.
In the end, referring to the construction of the first welfare service complex on the freeway from Haram to Haram, Hashemi said, we are looking for the increase of quality welfare service complexes in the province, because with these complexes, the stay of passengers in the province will increase and will play an effective role in reducing accidents.
