According to Total News, Siavash Teymori, Head of the Board of Directors of Sahra Tarabar International Shipping and Transport Company, referring to the need for the government to support the private sector for modernization, and stated, the modernization of the country’s transport fleet can easily be done by the private sector and it provided that the government provides the necessary support in this regard, such support is practically not observed now.
The Head of the road department of the Association of International Transport Companies of Iran presented solutions to increase the government’s support for the private sector and added, minimizing customs duties, simplifying customs procedures, standard and plate marking, eliminating administrative bureaucracy, being the trustee of a decision-maker organization in the field of import and removal of the condition of scrapping and after-sales services is among the proposals for the modernization of the transport fleet.
With regard to the removal of the condition of scrapping trucks, he continued, the government is easily able to limit the movement of worn out trucks, and with this method, requests for the replacement of worn out trucks are actually made by the owners.
Teymori said, providing long-term loans with reasonable bank interest in order to provide liquidity to importers and transfer it to the buyer when it is handed over to the buyer, simplifying customs formalities, standards and plate marking, including providing services to truckers.
The Head of the Board of Directors of Sahra Tarabar International Shipping and Transport Company considered solving the infrastructure problems of the Rasht-Astara railway as one of the priorities of the opening and said, the operationalization of the Rasht-Astara railway in the near future is almost impossible, because there are many problems in opening this route; the opening of the railway is one category and the creation of facilities for the use of this rail route is another category. The important question that arises here is whether the necessary facilities such as locomotives, wagons, warehouses and equipment for unloading and loading, cold storage, etc. will be created at the same time as the rail is opened? And most importantly, will the cost of these services be affordable or not?
Pointing out that the tolls received from our foreign fleet are different from the cost of fuel, he added, the ton-kilometer fee is paid by the forwarding companies if the cargo is in transit through the country or entering the free zones.
Teymori emphasized, reducing the time and cost of customs formalities, especially in relation to transit cargoes, as long as there is no single custodian, is nothing more than a wish.
