According to Total News, quoted by Isna, Pishwa Ahmad Mahmoud criticized the non-implementation of the memorandum and numerous meetings in the past and said, “unfortunately, despite the large common border between Iraq’s Halabja and Iran’s Kurdistan, Turkey still does not participate in investment and business activities in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region.”
Referring to the cooperation and assistance of Iran and especially the people of Kurdistan to Iraq and Halabja during the war, he added, our desire is to expand relations with Iran and Kurdistan, and this time we have come with all our strength to do great things and we expect serious cooperation and companionship.
The Head of the Chamber of Commerce of Halabja, Kurdistan Region of Iraq, said, currently, there is not a single factory in the Kurdistan Region with an Iranian investor, and we have the ability and possibility to provide the necessary capacities in this regard, unfortunately, the presence of Iranian products in the Iraqi market is weak. Therefore, Iranian export products should reach a level in terms of quantity and quality that can take the place of Turkish products in the consumption basket of Iraqi households.
He stated, the existence of administrative bureaucracy in Iran prevents the investment of regional investors, and these obstacles should be eased and removed.
Pishwa Ahmad Mahmoud pointed out the investment incentives in the Iraqi Kurdistan region and said, in addition to the delivery of land to the investor, the investors benefit from tax exemptions.
In the following, Ismail Zarei Kosha announced his readiness to welcome investors from Kurdistan region and Halabja in Kurdistan province and said, as far as possible, our effort is to provide the ground for the entry of regional investors as easily as possible.
He said that the border between Iran’s Kurdistan and Iraq’s Kurdistan region is an important capacity for both sides and added, a joint committee has been formed between Kurdistan province and Sulaymaniyah province with the aim of carrying out operational work.
The governor of Kurdistan stated, Kurdistan province has good capacities in the field of building construction, and in this regard, joint meetings can be held with municipalities, housing foundation and urban development.
Emphasizing that we will definitely cooperate as long as we have authority and there is no environmental problem, Zarei Kosha continued, all-round development in various sectors is the main policy of the government in Kurdistan.
